hi all.
this is a shader of byzantine roof tiles.
it's a simple plane object with a shader attached, as usual
lots of things need to improve :art: including the annoying lines that appear in the top of the curves.

hi all,
i did a little bit of refinements and a glossy version of the roof-tiles

http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o271/studiomoccoro/roof_tiles_1.jpg

my next step is to play around with alphas so i can capture a single row of the tiles
the scene file is attached

hi to all,
this is a screenshot of the roof-tile shader in a real project.
to speed things up, i didn't use the sub-polygon feature in the displacement channel settings.
i subdivided the mesh and the rendering was a lot quicker.

salut :odile:
after a long time of inactivity i started to revise the shader.
i had problems creating a single ridge of roof tiles, due to alpha-mapping problems.
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o271/studiomoccoro/roof_3.jpg

i've changed the projection from cubic to UVW and everything is as expected
http://i122.photobucket.com/albums/o271/studiomoccoro/roof_2.jpg
this is how the final shader looks like
